Social networks, texts and instant messages are a staple for most smart phone users, but many of us still rely on emails for communicating large messages, sending attachments and contacting groups of people easily.

The iPhone 6s supports multiple POP3, IMAP and Exchange accounts so if you have one email address for work and a separate one for home, receiving all of your email is as simple as adding each of the accounts to your iPhone. Follow the guide below to set up your preferred email accounts.
- From the home screen, tap on the Settings icon.
- Scroll down and tap on Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
- In the Accounts section, tap Add Account.
- Choose your email provider from the list of shown. Exchange accounts are often used by employers and education providers, Outlook.com is the new name for a Hotmail or Windows Live account, and Yahoo!, Google and AOL are all self-explanatory. For any other email provider, tap Other followed by Add mail account.

- In the on screen form, enter your email address and password (along with any other information required, such as your name) and tap Go on the keyboard or the Sign in button on the screen to proceed.
- If the account sets up, you may see a series of ticks flash up on screen to show your information was accepted, or an information screen about how your email account can be accessed. You may need to allow this, or tap Next to continue.
- This will then automatically move on to a screen with switches so you can choose which information the account will bring to your new iPhone - Mail, Contacts, Calendars, and possibly other items too, depending on the account. Turn off switches for any items you don't wish to be on your iPhone, then tap Save.
- If your email account fails to set up you may be asked for additional details about the account, such as incoming mail server settings. We have produced a guide to email server settings for popular UK email providers which may help, but if your provider is not listed you may need to contact them directly for assistance.

Once you have added your account, you can access your emails by touching the Mail icon from your Home screen. If you have set up more than one email account, you can view all your emails in one inbox by choosing the All Inboxes option from within the Mailboxes section in the Mail app.
