A surprise from Square Enix
On Monday, there was a surprise announcement from Square Enix that a HD remaster of Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age is due to be released for PlayStation 4 in 2017.
The remaster includes upgraded character models, as well as a rerecorded soundtrack. Most exciting of all, though, is the new 'Zodiac job system', which was previously only available in Japan. This allows you to assign each of your characters a job, which affects which abilities and skills they can learn.

Siri saves a baby's life!
Any iPhone users reading this probably know that Siri is used almost exclusively to answer silly questions – but for one woman in Australia, it may well have saved her daughter’s life!
When Stacey Gleeson noticed her baby had stopped breathing, she didn’t have time to hunt for her phone. Instead, she just shouted out for Siri to call the emergency services while she started CPR. Siri did as she was told – and, thankfully, the ambulance got there in time to save Giana’s life.

The four newest elements join the periodic table
On Wednesday, the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC) announced that the four newest elements of the periodic table now have official names.
Nihonium (Nh) is element number 113 and is named after the Japanese word for 'land of the rising sun'. Element number 115 is called Moscovium (Mc) and is named after Moscow. Following this trend, element 117 is called Tennessine (Ts) after Tennessee. Finally, element 118 is called Oganesson (Og) after Russian physicist Yuri Oganessian.
Take a look at the IUPAC website for more info on how the names were chosen.
Are these the bendiest phones ever?
Tech companies have been saying that bendable gadgets are the next big thing for years now – but they've yet to materialise. However, thanks to a couple of new concept devices shown off by Lenovo this week, the wait may soon be over.
The Lenovo Folio is a small tablet that can be folded in half to turn it into a smartphone. It's joined by the CPlus, a smartphone that wraps around your wrist, so it's always at hand (ha ha).
Both devices are currently just concepts – but they both have working screens that actually bend, so it looks like they’ve mastered the hard part.
The guys over at Engadget went hands-on with the devices at the Lenovo event this week – and you can see what they think over on their site.

Mirror's Edge: Catalyst hits the ground (and the walls) running
Also released this week is Mirror’s Edge: Catalyst, a reboot of the original 2008 parkour platformer.
In the game you play as Faith Connors as she runs, jumps and slides her way around the rooftops of the high-tech city, Glass, in a fight to overthrow the malevolent corporations that run the town.

The new Ghostbusters unveils its new villain
With just over a month until its official release, this week brought a new trailer for the Ghostbusters reboot – and we get our first look at the main villain of the film, Rowan.
According to Ghostbusters lore, Rowan was a magician from the 1940s who still haunts a film called The Deathless Image. In the comics, he managed to break free – and caused havoc, along with his minions – but there's no word yet on whether the film will follow the same storyline.
You can take a look at the new trailer from Sony Japan above – it’s worth it just to hear the Japanese guy at the end saying Ghostbusters! The film is due for release on July 15th.
John Boyega signs on for Pacific Rim sequel
In other movie news, this week we found out that The Force Awakens star John Boyega is due to be the new leading man in the upcoming Pacific Rim sequel.
There hasn’t been much revealed in the way of plot – but we do know that Boyega will be playing Idris Elba’s son. Apart from that, and the fact that it has a working title of Pacific Rim: Maelstrom, information is thin on the ground – but we’ll bring you all the latest updates as we get them.

Audacious thieves target Apple Stores – by dressing as employees!
Finally, we learned this week that a number of Apple Stores in New York City have been hit by a particlarly nefarious scam – thieves dressing as employees and walking out with tens of thousands of dollars worth of merchandise!
The gutsy bandits simply ordered counterfeit uniforms online, walked into the stores and filled their pockets from the shop's storage drawers. According to a report in the New York Post, an accomplice distracts the real workers while the scammers load up on iPhones – and one store on the Upper West Side lost almost $50,000 worth of the coveted devices in two separate attacks.
Clearly, the iPhone is a highly desirable piece of technology, and no doubt many of us would go to great lengths to get one. But it's my duty to remind our readers: stealing is wrong! As is buying stolen goods. So if you're really looking for an unbeatable deal on a brand-new iPhone – well, we know just the place.
